Upper East Side, Manhattan Apartment

Residence

This Upper East Side home doubled in size when we combined two adjacent apartments to create one massive 4 bedroom gem in the heart of New York City. Upon entering the space guests are greeted by an open, airy, and light-filled Living and Dining space with breathtaking panoramic city views. Smoked Walnut wide plank flooring creates a warm base for the contemporary open floor plan. The apartment’s luxury components are juxtaposed with unique art and furnishings, all curated and thoughtfully placed to speak to the personality of the homeowners.

When the sun goes down, the luxurious Lucite and brass dining chandelier from Arteriors sparkles beautifully over a custom solid live edge wood dining table, also accented with Lucite and brass. Navy Blue velvet dining chairs add a pop of color and tie into the nearby ink blue throw pillows on the Living Room’s oversized sectional. The luxurious sectional is accented with bright bursts of color in the accent pillows which are also found it the artwork above. The large, colorful, abstract canvas painted by Parisian Artist Denis De Gloire, was purchased by the clients while traveling abroad. A pair of custom organic brass coffee tables sit atop a plush area rug like sculptures in an art gallery.

In contrast, the nearby open Kitchen area features crisp white cabinetry with thin modern rail detailing and glass inserts above, paired with an elegant marble herringbone backsplash and Statuary Marble countertop. The waterfall edge on the peninsula frames the curved back brass counter stools. Brushed brass hardware and lighting act as jewelry and add the final luxurious touches to this clean, contemporary kitchen.

Along the brass sconce lit hallway, the children’s bedrooms are a dream come true. Whimsical colors, accent wall coverings and beautiful furniture and lighting make each room fit for young royalty. No luxury design is complete without a spa-like Master Suite. The master bedroom presents itself as a 5 star hotel and the master bathroom an oasis perfect for respite.

The master bathroom walls are clad in a bright Statuary Marble, sophistically accented with a marble and mirror mosaic in the shower and bath’s wet area. The wet area’s marble and grey wood-look hexagon radiant heated flooring provide both visual and physical warmth. Atop the flooring, a stunning freestanding soaker bathtub and floor mounted tub filler are the final design touches of this home spa.
